SUKT is a Kyu grade competition organised by Sheffield University Judo Club.
The event is aimed at all kyu grade judokas, from beginners looking for a chance to try out competition style fighting for the first time as well as brown belt fighters hoping to earn points towards their first dan.
The first SUKT was held in 2010 and we continue to work to improve the event year on year.
In 2017 we introduced registration through this website.
In 2021 we hope to hold our first SUKT competition since the covid pandemic.
When and Where
SUKT is held at Goodwin sports centre, the Sheffield University sports centre. In the main hall.
In 2021, the return of SUKT will be held on the 4th December 2021.
For everyone's safety we asking all participants, staff and spectators to show a valid COVID pass and to do a lateral flow test. We will have some tests on site as well as testing sites around Sheffield, however this can be done the night before or the morning before you arrive.
Spectators and Staff will be asked to wear masks unless exempt.
Normally, it's expected that all players will have graded in the last 12 months (with the exception of brown belts), but this year exceptions will be made considering many of us have not trained over lockdown. This would be to try and make sure everyone gets contests at an appropriate level.
